Bureau of Fire Prevention

In accordance with the New Jersey State Uniform Fire Safety Act, all businesses are classified as either "life hazard use" or a "non-life hazard use."
  • Life Hazard Use - Must register annually with the New Jersey State Bureau of Fire Safety. Assistance in doing so and registration forms will be provided by the Ramsey Bureau of Fire Prevention. Fees vary and are paid directly to the state.
  • Non-life Hazard Uses - Must register annually with the Ramsey Bureau of Fire Prevention. Fees vary by size of business.

After the Planning Board forwards an approved copy of the Waiver of Site Plan the Fire Prevention Secretary will send you the necessary forms and fees due.
