Should I bother to call for final inspections?
The State Department of Consumer Affairs law 13:45A-16.2 requires that final inspections are completed prior to you mailing final payment to your contractor. Final inspections complete the project and allow our department to issue the appropriate certificate to you. Added assessments are determined at the time the project is completed for its intended use. They do not start when a certificate is issued. This law protects you — use it!
