1. How do I obtain a Parking Permit?: Ramsey residents can purchase a yearly parking pass at Borough Hall by completing parking permit application which can be found under Services menu/forms on the website. Parking permit renewal is in August each year for a fee of $15. The registration for each car must be presented when obtaining a new permit. Payment may be made by cash or check.

2. What is required for Pet Registration?: Dogs and cats need to be registered within 10 days of acquisition. A rabies certificate needs to be presented. Pets may be registered online at: https://main.govpilot.com/web/public/2df09f8a-969_Dog-License-Application-ramsey?uid=6868&ust=NJ&pu=1&id=0 , in person or by mail along with pet registration form which can be found under forms on the website. Rabies must be current through November of the current year. Payment is by credit card or check.

The Recycling Center hours are Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 3:00PM ( October - March)

Mondays 8:00AM - 8:00PM (April - September)

Saturdays 9:00AM - 3:00PM (December - March)

Saturdays - 9:00AM - 4:00PM (April - November)

5. How do I register to vote ?: Voter registration forms are available at the Borough Hall or on-line at Voter Registration Information

6. Is Garbage picked up on Holidays?: Garbage is picked up every holiday except Christmas Day. For all other holidays, trash should be placed at the curb the night before due to unusually early pick-up.

1. How do I pay my bill?: • In Person: Checks/money orders are accepted during regular office hours in the Finance Dept.
• Mail: Checks/money orders can be mailed to Ramsey Board of Public Works, 33 N. Central Ave, Ramsey NJ 07446. Be sure to send your bill stub also and ensure your account # is on the check.
• Drop Box: Checks/money orders can be dropped off during non-working hours through the lock box located to the right of the front doors at Borough Hall.
• Online: You can pay via our secure website: www.ramseynj.com (click on “ONLINE PAYMENTS”) (Third-party service fees will be applied). Have your account # and PIN# ready. This information is printed on your bill.
• Online banking: you can use your own online bank paying system. Please provide your account # on the check for proper crediting.

2. When can I expect a bill?: Water/sewer bills are sent out quarterly. Interest begins to accrue after the due date. Please allow 7-10 business days for your check to get to our office.

3. Can a tenant sign up to receive a bill?: Yes, please email us if the owner/landlord elects for you to have your own bill. arlana.water@ramseynj.com / llarkin@ramseynj.com

4. Do you offer paperless bills?: Yes, we can email your bill to you in a PDF format. To save paper, you do not need to print the bill stub for us. To ensure proper credit, make sure your account # is clearly printed on the check. To sign up, please send an email, with your contact information to arlana.water@ramseynj.com or llarkin@ramseynj.com to request paperless bills. Ten days after the bill’s due date, we will mail out paper delinquent notices.

5. Do you offer automatic withdrawal for water/sewer bills?: Yes, use this form to sign up for automatic withdrawal:

6. Do you offer any discounts?: We offer a 15% discount only on the minimum flat water rate for seniors (65+) or persons with disabilities. A form for Senior/Disabled residents can be found online or in our office. Please provide proof of address and age (e.g. Driver’s License) or a copy of your Social Security Disability Award letter.

7. What is the current Water Rate?: In Town: $36.12 (up to 6,000 gallons); Excess $6.02/1,000 gallons Out-of-Town: $39.72 (up to 6,000 gallons); Excess $6.62/1,000 gallons

8. What is the current Sewer Rate?: In Town: $117.75 (up to 12,500 gallons); Excess $9.42/1,000 gallons Out-of-Town: $129.50 (up to 12,500 gallons); Excess $10.36/1,000 gallons

9. Need the water turned off for repairs?: We will check the curb box upon request. Please call our office to initiate this process.

10. I am selling my house, what do I need to do?: Property owners are responsible for notifying our office at least 2 business days prior to the closing date. We will need the closing date, your attorney’s fax# and the new owner’s name(s).

11. My tenant is moving out, can I get a final bill for them?: We do not process final bills for tenants. Prior to the tenants moving out, the owner or tenant can call our office for help in calculating an approximate amount due.

12. Why is there a letter “E” next to my current reading on my water bill?: The letter “E” indicates that the meter reading was Estimated. Please call our office to schedule an appointment to check your meter.

13. Why does my water bill seem unusually high or unusually low?: It is best to call our office as soon as you notice anything on your bill that seems out of the ordinary.
